SEMINAR: MARINE RESEARCH

Er Jenn Wei

15 MAR 2017
WED, 3PM

UPON INVITATION ONLY

Speaker's Bio:
Snehal JAIN joined CENSAM in October 2015 as a Research Engineer at the Water and Aerial Vehicles for Environmental Sensing Lab, lead by Prof. Nicholas Patrikalakis (MIT) and Tawfiq Taher (SMART). Since his appointment, he has contributed to several projects by developing software systems and contributing to experiments in both, the field and laboratory domains.

He obtained his Bachelors in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (Rajasthan, India) in 2015, working on the prototyping of low-cost automated manufacturing machines and the design and control of autonomous flying vehicles. Amongst his undergraduate projects, the most notable one was the development of an autonomous drone for estimating the mangrove forest cover in Goa. For his undergraduate thesis, he worked on the design and dynamics of a micro aerial vehicle inspired by the auto-rotating twin-bladed Samara seeds at the MAVLab at the Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur, India).
